As part of this research experience I have worked with Prof Manish Okade, Department of Electronics and Commuication Engineering NIT Rourkela, since October 2020. Our research is in the domain of Image Forensics.

The aim of this research is to develop a deep learning based method to detect presence of resizing in a digital image. Firstly we have experimented with detecting the presence of resizing in uncompressed images(.TIF). We also estimated the resizing factor when the image was resized by a factor chosen from a set of 10 candidate factors. Secondly we experimented with images that were double JPEG compressed. To be precise, the resizing was introduced as a form of tampering between two JPEG compression cycles. This was also based on a deep learning method. The proposed methods in both problems displayed an accuracy that beats previous benchmarks to the the best of our knowledge

Currently a paper on one of these works has been published at IEEE International Conference on Range Technology (ICORT) 2021. Work for another research paper is ongoing.

Currently further research on this topic is being continued and we aim to develop better and more robust methodologies to tackle the problem.
